API Plant - Roha

Overview

In 1976, using three decades of cumulative technological expertise, Unichem embarked on an ambitious project to set up its first API manufacturing facility. The plant is located in Roha, 150 kms from Mumbai in Maharashtra’s state government-approved chemical zone.

What began modestly as a single block API manufacturing facility, rapidly expanded to eight production blocks with two multi-purpose blocks.

This unit has the capacity to develop and execute a wide range of unit processes and operations such as ethoxylation, halogenation, hydrogenation, nitration, sulphonation etc.

The Roha plant has been designed to meet the following corporate goals:

• Technological competence to handle difficult molecules
• To supply quality products that fulfill or even surpass the stringent requirements of all major regulatory authorities and customers
• To compete and win in international markets
